Covid19 update for BSV

Hello Everyone

Our club is committed to welfare and safety of all members.

The Uniting Church of Australia has instructed that all community use of facilities such as our Hall meeting place and church services are to stop.

The State of Victoria is in a lockdown state to ensure that the public remains safe and is required to follow its requirement that isolation is the best course of action at this time.

All Bonsai Society of Victoria Monday night club meetings, Saturday workshops and novice programs are cancelled until it is safe to do so.

Keep well, enjoy your bonsai, until we are able to meet again

Hello Everyone

At the committee meeting last night, following serious discussion about the impact of the coronavirus and our paramount concern about member health and safety, we have decided to cancel the following meetings and events:

  • Club Meeting to be held on Monday 23rd March is cancelled.

  • Workshop on Saturday 11th April is cancelled.

Coronavirus Effects on other bonsai activities:

  • Bonsai Week in Canberra 23 -29 March is cancelled.

  • Native Bonsai Show 4-5th April is cancelled.

  • Bendigo Bonsai Club advises that the Easter Fair and Bonsai Show is cancelled.

Our Bonsai Show at Ripponlea on the weekend of 2nd - 3rd May will only proceed subject to the circumstances surrounding the coronavirus and advice provided at that time. The committee have health and safety of members at the forefront of all club activities.

If circumstances change and we are able to participate in the activities at Ripponlea over this weekend we wish to be prepared.  Please consider offering assistance for this Bonsai Show if it eventuates. 

The committee meeting on 20th April will review any further action we are required to take in regard to BSV meetings, workshops and the Ripponlea Bonsai Show in early May. Please keep well and follow sound health and care practices as advised.
